RFID is one of the most fast-growing High-Tech in the 21st century. With the development of relative technologies and applications, RFID will have a profound effect on economy, society, politics, military, security and other aspects. The development of RFID technology and industry is a systematic engineering, which involves many government departments, enterprises and other industries. Domestic and international communication and cooperation are crucial to original innovation. In this context, the annual event “China International RFID Technology Development Conference & Exposition” will be held on October 26 to 28, 2006 in Shanghai, P.R. China. At that time, around 300 guests, including local or foreign government officials, scholars and experts in the field, enterprise leaders and leads of related associations and organizations, will get together in Shanghai to discuss hot topics regarding RFID technologies, standardization, industry development, etc. The conference’s theme will be “Enhancing international communication and cooperation and promoting RFID innovation”. During the three-day-conference, there will be a keynote session, industry and technology forum, standardization workshop, products and solutions exhibition, successful stories showcase, which will provide the participants with the latest strategies of RFID technical development, status of technical standards development, academic research achievements, and successful business solution and implement cases. Meanwhile, the inauguration of “National RFID Industry (Shanghai) Base” will be held, and a visit to industry base and pilot projects will be arranged. The conference is aimed to strengthen technology communication and cooperation between countries, make researches and advanced technologies industrialized, facilitate broad application of RFID technologies, and achieve original innovation based on mutual communication and cooperation.
The conference is hosted by Ministry of Science and Technology in conjunction with the People’s Government of Shanghai Municipality, and organized by general office of national RFID industrialization (Shanghai) base and Shanghai Zhangjiang (Group) Co., Ltd.. Government ministries in People’s Republic of China including Information Office of the State Council, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Information Industry, Science & Technology department of Shanghai, China Association for Standardization will also offer substantial supports.

Forum 2: Industry and Technology
Discussion on RFID-related activities in chips design, integration and packaging of tags, developing and manufacturing of readers, application and integration of software, public services architecture and development, etc.
Forum 3: Standardization
Discussion on status of international standards about RFID, the strategies of standardization in various countries, the problem of compatibility and other relative aspects.
